David Dreher moved to Diamondhead, Mississippi after finishing school at The University of Southern Mississippi. He quickly realized that his new home was located in a fantastic golf cart community, and he bought his first cart and began customizing it. David knew this was his opportunity to do a better job, and in 2006, he started Gulf Coast Golf Carts right out of his home.

Scott Lightsey opened Ecco Motors in 2005 as a retirement project focusing on maintenance and repair of golf carts. Within a few years Ecco Motors expanded into a 12,000 square foot building offering sales, service and rentals of both Street Legal Carts and golf carts. Ecco Motors also occupies a 11,000 square foot storage building in Destin. Now a third location, dedicated to sales has opened at 36058 Emerald Coast Parkway, across from Regatta Bay.
